Dedicated to Protecting Lives, Restoring Hope, and Serving Humanity Across the Kurdistan Region — Since 2014.
EHAO is a Kurdish humanitarian organization dedicated to protecting lives, providing emergency support, and delivering essential assistance to those in need. We work with commitment, expertise, and compassion to help people during crises, emergencies, and daily hardships.
EHAO is a Humanitarian Organization Founded on December 9, 2014, the Emergency Relief and Humanitarian Aid Organization operates throughout the Kurdistan Region with the capacity to provide urgent assistance, first aid support, and essential humanitarian relief wherever needed.
Our Activities are funded by internal and external support, as well as contributions from generous benefactors who believe in our mission.
We believe that human life and the process of living are inseparable — and that protecting people during hardship is a responsibility that requires constant effort, skill, and dedication.

In 2019, our organization launched one of the most influential humanitarian projects in the region by collaborating with an Italian organization and the prosthetics centers in Mosul and Sulaymaniyah. Through this partnership, we managed to transfer the full process of designing, measuring, and manufacturing prosthetic legs and arms to Sulaymaniyah. This allowed individuals who had lost limbs during the war against ISIS in Mosul to receive treatment without the financial and physical difficulty of long-distance travel. For an entire year, the project provided life-changing support to civilians who had suffered traumatic injuries, helping them regain mobility, independence, and dignity.
Our organization has become widely recognized for delivering high-quality first aid training throughout the Kurdistan Region. These courses are conducted by professional trainers and medical specialists, and they have reached a broad range of participants, including high school and university students, industrial workers, and employees of major companies. The training covers essential emergency topics such as burns, drowning, fractures, and fundamental lifesaving procedures. By strengthening the community’s ability to respond to emergencies, these programs have significantly increased the level of preparedness across multiple segments of society.
During the height of the war against ISIS, our organization voluntarily contributed to the medical support of Kurdish Peshmerga forces. Our team assisted in providing essential care to injured fighters, offering humanitarian and medical help at a time when the region faced great instability and danger. This participation represented a deep commitment to protecting those who fought to defend the region and demonstrated the organization’s readiness to serve wherever human need was greatest.
As displacement increased due to conflict in Iraq and Syria, our organization played a vital role in collecting and delivering aid to internally displaced persons and refugees. Support was gathered from benefactors both inside and outside the Kurdistan Region and delivered directly to families in need. The assistance provided included essential living items that helped stabilize conditions for people who had suddenly lost their homes and livelihoods. Through these efforts, we offered relief to some of the most vulnerable communities affected by war and displacement.
Recognizing the difficulty many families face in accessing medical treatment, our organization has consistently worked to assist individuals with limited financial resources. We helped arrange medical care within the region for patients whose health conditions required urgent attention but who lacked the financial means to afford treatment. By coordinating with hospitals, specialists, and generous donors, we were able to bring hope and support to individuals in critical situations.
To reinforce safety standards in the places where we conduct training courses, we have provided cleaning materials and small first aid kits to several institutions. These supplies help maintain hygiene and ensure that students, trainees, and staff have the basic tools needed for dealing with minor injuries. This initiative forms part of our ongoing effort to create safer, healthier environments within schools, workplaces, and community centers.
